George Sampson was announced as the winner of Britain’s Got Talent. The fourteen year-old beat 50,000 hopefuls to win the top prize. Simon Cowell called George the "dance version of Rocky" for his determination during the competition. George competed on the show last year but was eliminated in an early round. Britain’s Got Talent Finals 2008 - George Sampson Wins!

Breakdancer George Sampson triumphed in the final of Britain’s Got
Talent winning the chance to perform in front of the Prince of Wales.

The
14-year-old, from Warrington, beat nine other acts to take home the
£100,000 prize and will now appear at the Royal Variety Performance.

As the announcement was made live on ITV, George broke into tears and said "I’m speechless. Wow. Just thanks so much everybody."

Judge Simon Cowell said to the winner: "You are the dance version of Rocky. You battled your way to the top."

It
was the second time that the teenager has put himself forward for the
competition. Last year he was knocked out in one of the preliminary
stages.

He won over the judges in the final with a high energy dance routine to a funked-up version of Singing in the Rain. source
