There is speculation that journalist Alexandra Pelosi is filming a new political documentary with her mother, Nancy Pelosi, as the main subject. Alexandra Pelosi filmed the movie “Journeys with George” while George Bush was on his political campaign. This new doc sounds very interesting. Alexandra Pelosi’s last film for HBO covered the John McCain presidential campaign.

Filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, best known for shooting documentaries on evangelical Christians and presidential candidate George W. Bush, may have found the subject of her next film: her mother, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
On Friday, the younger Pelosi shot video of her mother at her weekly news conference as the speaker refused to answer questions from the media about her claim that the CIA lied to Congress about the Bush administration’s interrogation program.
The camera Pelosi used is a “cuts” camera that the speaker’s office has prohibited credentialed media from using during her briefings.
Pelosi’s office prohibited the “cuts” camera, which is used to get shots not covered by a straight-on camera, because it argued there is not enough space and would have to start limiting attendance at the news conference to one journalist per organization.
It’s unknown why the younger Pelosi attended the news conference but FOX News protested her use of the camera to the speaker’s office and the House press gallery, which serves as a liaison between the media and Congress.
When asked at the end of the news conference why her daughter was there, Pelosi said, “She always goes with it. Alexandra is never without her camera, whether it be around the house…”
Pelosi’s office later told FOX News that the filmmaker shot the footage for her own private use and does not intend to use it for a documentary.
Some of Alexandra Pelosi’s most prominent documentaries have appeared on HBO, including “Right America: Feeling Wronged,” which followed the McCain campaign in 2008 and “The Trials of Ted Haggard,” chronicling the rise and fall of the mega-preacher after his sex and drug scandal.
Alexandra Pelosi was at Johns Hopkins University Thursday to attend her mother’s commencement address to some in the graduating class and her receipt of an honorary degree.
The filmmaker told FOX News that she not only continues to maintain her friendship with former President Bush but that he also invited her to attend an upcoming debate between he and former President Bill Clinton. [FOX]
