chris brown larry kingWe weren’t the only ones who realized that Chris Brown’s highly anticipated sit down with Larry King left us with more questions than answers. The interview made Chris Brown look worse because of his reaction to the Rihanna beatdown and he definitely did not want to take responsibility for his actions.

Don’t get us started on his silly blue bowtie and this interview was Chris Brown’s last chance to be honest and come clean for what he did but he didn’t do or say jack.  Instead, Chris Brown hid behind his mother who shed tears and defended her son while Chris said he wasn’t a man yet. Look Chris we’re going to send you the memo about your manhood. You were having a grown relationship with Rihanna. According to the police report the fight between Chris Brown and Rihanna was sparked by a booty call text message which was sent by a former lover to Chris Brown  who was confirmed to have had a past sexual relationship with CB.  You are a man Chris. Get over it and man up for what you did. It seems as though Chris Brown is more “sorry” about the fact that his “good boy” image is blown along with his career. Can you believe he tried to pretend he couldn’t remember his past violence with Rihanna? His mother wasn’t helping when she said she didn’t believe that she contributed to him becoming an abuser when she exposed him to domestic violence. This is a mess. Chris Brown had Twitter in a frenzy over his fashion sense.

Chris Brown’s appearance and fashion sense on “Larry King Live” Wednesday night was the talk of the town — or at least the Twitterverse.

Numerous viewers tuned in to CNN and then took to Twitter to share their thoughts, which ranged from contemptuous and outraged to forgiving and mocking.

Throughout the interview, Brown expressed regret for beating his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in early February and how he wanted to move forward.

“I’m willing to get counseling. I’m willing to learn myself more,” he told King. “I’m willing to learn how to control emotions and learn different things.”

And despite admitting that he still loved Rihanna, he seemed to be okay with the thought of her moving on with her life and dating other people.

“At the end of the day, we’re not together. If she’s happy, then that’s cool,” he said.

As for his own dating life, Brown only commented, “I’m focusing on my career. The only girl I love is all my fans … Who knows? I’d never say I’m not going to date.”

Many of the comments about Brown’s interview on Twitter were negative, claiming that he avoided answering questions directly and blamed his actions on ignorance about being in a relationship. Other commenters were more understanding, choosing to accept his humbled position and desire to work on himself.

The bowtie

Still more Twitter commenters, however, were transfixed with Brown’s choice of baby blue bowtie and matching sweater. A sampling of tweets:

- “Chris Brown lost more fans for wearin this outfit than he did for hitting Rhianna~~~ HATER”
- “Who else wants to reach into the tv and yank that bow-tie off of chris brown?”
- “Is the bow tie chris brown has on his stylist attempt to make him look innocent or just payback for what he did to rihanna.”
- “Why the f*** is Chris brown wearin a bowtie I feel like he gonna convert to Islam any minute and start sellin bean pie”
- “Chris Brown thought that dressing like a black howdie doodie [sic] on this interview was gonna get him off….lmfaooooooooooooo” [source]

“I accept full responsibility,” said Chris Brown to Larry King. Um, gee: for what? “Out of respect for her” — that is, Rihanna — “and myself, I don’t really want to talk about what went on.”

Well, then, so glad you want to be on TV for an hour, Chris, since you don’t want to talk about the exact reason you were invited to appear on TV!

But Larry was relentless, in his saggy-noodle way.

“Do you love her?”

“Definitely.”

“In love with her?”

“Definitely.”

Holy cow, what a scoop Larry King Live offered us on Wednesday night! Chris Brown professed his affection for Rihanna, but claiming that “out of respect for her and myself,” he wasn’t going to tell King one damning detail about the events that resulted in a felony-assault conviction, with five years probation and six months “community labor.”

Flanked by his mother and his lawyer, Brown said, “I’m like, ‘Wow,’” numerous times when asked his reaction to the police reports and photographs of a beaten Rihanna. “That’s not who I am as a person. I dont know what to think,” he said. There was a lot more vague psychobabble like that. “I’m not a man fully yet,” said Brown.

Larry tried flattery: “You appear… rather nice,” he said. Larry brought up the reports that Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, was a victim of domestic abuse, adding, absurdly, “By the way, Joyce, I’m not a counselor, but it’s not your fault.”

But it was to no avail: “I don’t really talk about what went on,” said Brown.

The closest Brown came to acknowledging his acts was also his closest brush with eloquence:  ”Nobody taught us how to love one another.”

There was so little to discuss that King pretty much tossed in the towel in the last ten minutes, and started asking Brown how he felt about Michael Jackson’s death. “I was devastated. I broke down.” Duly noted. [source]
