Beyoncé – HEAT – New Fragrance Commercial – FULL COMMERICAL  ADDED UPDATE

“I’m so happy with it,” she said during an exclusive interview with WWD. “I’ve been working on it for a while now. I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing! The fans loved it. They were like, ‘I love that, I’m getting that, why isn’t it out right now? I need it!” said Knowles with a laugh.

Her fans’ passion helped spark the development process. “What inspires me is love, passion — something that makes me want to be better, to do more,” she said. “Knowing that I have people who look to me — because thank God I’ve had so many great opportunities — I don’t take it for granted. Young girls can see me, and think, ‘Wow. Maybe if I work hard and I’m focused, I can do the same thing.’ And they absolutely can. It’s not just about me being a singer. It’s about knowing that I have people who look at my life, and to know I can inspire them inspires me.”

For the fragrance’s name, Knowles drew from her past tours. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold,” she noted; both colors frame the bottle. “So then we thought of making the bottle look like it’s on fire. I love antique bottles — my mother had a collection of them when I was growing up. I wanted something with an antique yet modern feeling. Even with my wardrobe, I always try to find things that have a little bit of something vintage, yet still timeless and classic. The bottle, I felt, was a great mixture of the two.”

The juice, which Knowles concocted with Givaudan’s Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin, has top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach; a heart of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk, and a drydown of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.

“This was my first time starting from scratch, although I’ve worked with a few other fragrance projects,” said Knowles, who has also been the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star and Giorgio Armani’s Diamonds. “Everything, from the bottle design to the name and the ideas for the commercials — that’s me. When I commit to something, I do it 100 percent, and I’ve never had until this project. I learned a lot of great things from the past — but I always asked myself, ‘If I could have my own scent, what would it be?’ I wasn’t worried about deadlines. It could have taken me three, four, however many years — this was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever.”

And there will definitely be more fragrances, said Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president, global marketing, at Coty Beauty, a division of Coty Inc., which holds Knowles’ scent license.

“We will explore all of the different sides of Beyoncé with future fragrances, but Beyoncé Heat is meant to be the enduring classic,” said Mormoris. “We think this scent will re-energize the celebrity category.” Mormoris declined to discuss how large a house of Beyoncé fragrances could be, although industry sources estimated a Knowles-branded fragrance collection could represent a $300 million market opportunity within a few years.

The Beyoncé Heat lineup includes eaux de parfum in three sizes — 1 oz. for $39; 1.7 oz. for $49, and 3.4 oz. for $59 — as well as a 6.8-oz. Gold Sparkling Body Lotion for $24.
In addition to its U.S. distribution — about 2,000 department and specialty store doors, including Macy’s — the collection will be available in Canada and Latin America in February. Additional global distribution — including Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia — will begin in August. In-store, the bottle will be on a rotating platform meant to show off its facets and graduated coloring. The top of the bottle is edged with a gold band, inscribed with the words Beyoncé and Heat, and topped with a cap etched with the letter B.

BEYONCE JAY-Z BIG TIP DATE DETAILS | LADY GAGA BEYONCE VIDEO PHONE & MUSIC COLLABORATIONS INTERVIEW !!!

Posted on 28 Oct 2009 at 4:15pm

Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z had a date at Nello’s restaurant on the Upper East side.  According to sources the power couple dined and ran up a $1200 bill and left a hefty $500 dollar tip after they finished their meal.  It’s great to see these two out. It’s just a shame that Jay-Z doesn’t take Bey out for a meal in public too often. Jay-Z has to work on the PDA’s.

LADY GAGA & BEYONCE COLLABORATIONS INTERVIEW UPDATE

Lady Gaga revealed some details about her current collaboration with Beyonce on  the “Videophone”  music video shoot.

Gaga also spilled the beans about how she had no shame about jocking Beyonce’s style and is working on more projects with the diva in the future.

In other Gaga news, the singer has announced a series of collaborations with Beyoncé, in which the pop stars will trade off on two forthcoming singles, and possibly Lady Gaga’s second album.

“I want to do my version of Beyoncé,” Lady Gaga told New York’s Z100 radio station yesterday. Though she’s best known for far-out costumery and sullen posing, Lady Gaga took a different approach for her appearance in an forthcoming Beyoncé video. “ called me and she said, ‘What do you want to do?’” Lady Gaga revealed. “And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video’. I said, ‘I want to do you.’”

And so there she is, in a photo leaked to the Perez Hilton blog: Lady Gaga with her hair (or perhaps her wig) down, standing in a Beyoncé-style white leotard. “The whole time I was learning the choreography they were calling me Gee-yoncé,” Gaga said.

That clip – for Beyoncé’s Video Phone single – isn’t the only team-up on the cards. The Crazy in Love singer guests on Telephone, a track from the forthcoming expanded edition of Lady Gaga’s debut album. Telephone was produced by Darkchild and is reportedly a future single.

That’s not all, though. Lady Gaga has suggested that she and Beyoncé may evencollaborate on songs that don’t have the word “phone” in their titles.

WATCH JAY-Z RUN THIS TOWN OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FEATURING RIHANNA & KANYE WEST

Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” music video debuted featuring Rihanna and Kanye West. The video was shot in Jay-Z’s hometown around New York City. Thoughts?

Throughout Jay-Z’s career, the Brooklyn MC has worn the King of New York crown, turned the Hot 97 Summer Jam stage into an annual exhibit of his greatness and probably increased sales of Yankees fitted hats more than Derek Jeter.

So you would think the video for a track called “Run This Town” would be an ode to his hometown, right? Not exactly.

Despite the clip being filmed in the Big Apple, at the historic Fort Trotten Park in Queens, the director, Anthony Mandler, said he wanted to avoid any semblance of New York’s iconic imagery.

“I wanted something that didn’t fit into ‘this is New York, this is a building or a street ,’ ” he explained to MTV News. “I wanted it to feel more ancient. I wanted it to feel more European but on American soil. I didn’t want it to have a framework, like, ‘Oh, we’re riding in New York.’ ”

Instead, the “Run This Town” video is a nihilistic, chaotic account of militia-like entities revolting, complete with Molotov-cocktail explosions, riot-like activity and the high-powered trio of Hov, Kanye West, and Rihanna performing in the midst of it all.

Mandler said the piece was more culturally inspired from current events, compared to the clip for “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),” which referenced the Italian film “Zabriskie Point.”

“There’s a tone and feeling to the song,” Mandler said of the Blueprint 3 track

There’s a militia, a march and a kind of rambunctious energy to it that, for me, I immediately wanted to tap into. I showed some references from the classic rebellious zones of the world. We live in a very orderly society in America, but when you get into Brazil, you get into the Middle East, you get into Africa, you get into Eastern Europe, when you get into places like that, there’s a different sort of ‘we run this town’ . There’s less order and more chaos. So we looked at a lot of those references, new photos and historical photos, to capture that kind of falling-apart feeling.”

Through the use of lighting effects and editing techniques, Mandler said he played up the aggression in the shots, creating more stark and tension-filled imagery. Mandler has worked with both Jay-Z (”Lost Ones,” “D.O.A.”) and Rihanna (”Disturbia,” “Rehab”) multiple times, but this was his first time collaborating with West. The director said he was able to successfully capture the essence of each artist while still retaining the original focus for the video.
