The Clipse are back with a new video remix for their single “I’m Good” featuring Rick Ross and directed by Spliff TV. Their album Til The Casket Drops comes out on 12/8.

CMJ MUSIC MARATHON RECAP CLIPSE, DUCK DOWN & BROOKLYN BODEGA SHOWCASE RECAP + PHOTOS
The CMJ Music Marathon which has been called the “East Coast equivalent of SXSW” touched down in New York City from October 20-24th and it was crazy! We enjoyed checkin’ out both the signed and independent artists who used the showcases as an opportunity to connect with their college radio fan bases.

The Clipse rocked the house as they headlined a MySpace Music Pre-Release Show at the Hiro Ballroom to promote their new album, “Til The Casket Drops,” which comes out on December 8th.
While the fellas were in town, they linked up with Killa Cam to shoot the video for the song “Popular Demand (Popeyes).” We’ll be on the look out for that!

The dynamic hip-hop duo took to the stage and performed a mix of the old, new and mixtape cuts. When Pusha T and Malice performed “Grindin’”, “Mr. Me Too,” “I’m Good,” and “Kinda Like A Big Deal” the crowd went bonkers. Now, the Clipse may have had on their “Play Clothes,” which is the name of the brothers’ clothing line, but these dudes were serious.
We got to check out a lot of new music during CMJ 2009. Another showcase we went to was put on by Brooklyn Bodega.

It was a cool Soul and Hip-Hop event, at a spot called Drom, which featured the talented Kimberly Nichole and Jesse Boykins III (JB3) for the Soul set while Pac Div, Tanya Morgan, Those Chosen, and Diamond District represented for hip-hop. Props to the Brooklyn Bodega gang for making this event possible.
Duck Down also put on a showcase at The Gramercy Theater with a hard line-up that brought not only Buckshot, Sean Price ft. Heltah Skeltah, and Smif N Wessun but also Kidz in The Hall, Skyzoo and special guest Pharoahe Monch to the stage.
It was hip-hop heaven!
If you didn’t check out the event this time around, you missed out. You should definitely check it out next year.
MUSIC VIDEO THE CLIPSE FEAT. RICK ROCK “I’M GOOD REMIX” CMJ MUSIC MARATHON CLIPSE, DUCK DOWN & BROOKLYN BODEGA SHOWCASE RECAP + PHOTOSA new bonus track off Twista’s album Category F5 has leaked online. The song reunites Twista with Kanye who made the Chicago rapper a “celebrity overnight.” The single is produced by Kanye West and No. I.D.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
This track didn’t make the retail version of the album so if you’re only a buyer of hard copy CDs, like yours truly, you’ll need 2 DL this above for your Category F5 collection.
The beat defines the track first and foremost. ‘Ye and No I.D. collaborated on a sampled, slowed-down production further characterized with a soft piano. Above all though, the beat has a hip hop feel 2 it, even before ‘Ye spits the first verse. His colorful verse sets the tone for Twista 2 go in, which he does with some clever name drops along the way (Artful Dodger, Air Yeezys, and my boy Gilbert Arenas). “Alright” is automatically in the top tier of tracks from Category F5 and over time I’m sure I won’t hesitate 2 say it’s my favorite off the album.
The Grammy nominees were announced yesterday. Lil Wayne and Coldplay received the most nominations. Congrats to all of the Grammy Nominees including Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Estelle, Leona Lewis, M.I.A. and The Jonas Brothers,. Here is a full list of this year’s nominees.
